How can you track weekly habits that do not fit a daily checklist?
Short answer
Track the habit by the week instead of asking yourself to check it off every day. In Moodrate, make a Tracker with a Weekly rhythm, record each time the habit happens, and use a Goal reminder for a number of ratings per week. That way, you can look for a routine that fits your actual week.
Give the habit a weekly home
Some habits make sense every day. Others happen when the week allows: taking a longer walk, cooking something at home, or setting aside time for a personal project. A daily checklist can make those routines feel like failures on the days they were never meant to happen.
A weekly Tracker gives you a wider window. You can rate the same habit each time you do it, then look at the week as a whole instead of judging one missed day. This can make a habit tracker feel more useful when your routine is flexible.

Track the action, not a perfect week
Choose one clear action for the Tracker name, such as Take a walk or Cook at home. For a habit that either happened or did not, choose the Yes / No Rating scale. Set the rhythm to Weekly, and choose Neutral for What does a higher rating mean? when the rating simply records whether you did it.
If you want to record every time the habit happens, use Rate more than once. The ratings stay in the same weekly period, so your record can reflect several occasions rather than only one. You can add a Note when a little context would help you understand the week later.

- Goal: at least 3 ratings per week
This setup records each occasion in a weekly period and gives you a reminder if you have not reached the example goal yet.
Let the goal reminder do the counting
A Goal reminder can watch the number of ratings and set a target per day, week, or month. For this setup, choose at least three ratings per week. The reminder is sent only when the goal has not been met yet, so you do not need to turn the habit into a daily task just to remember your weekly aim.
Treat three as a starting point for this example, not a rule about how often the habit should happen. Pick a target that makes sense for your own routine. If your weeks vary, you can adjust the target later and use Statistics to notice how the pattern changes.
Review the pattern without grading yourself
Look across a few weeks
Notice whether ratings tend to cluster on particular days or spread across the week. A pattern can help you decide when the habit fits most naturally.
Keep missed periods honest
If you did not rate during a week, you can mark the period as unfilled. That keeps a skipped period distinct from a week when you simply have not added a rating yet.
Choose the tracker style that helps
A streak tracker can draw attention to an unbroken run, while a weekly goal focuses on reaching a target within a broader period. If a daily run makes a flexible habit feel all-or-nothing, try paying attention to the weekly pattern instead.
Frequently asked questions
Can I record a habit more than once in a week?
Yes. Turn on Rate more than once for the Tracker, then add a rating each time the habit happens. Those ratings are kept in the same weekly period.

Will a Goal reminder nudge me after I reach my weekly target?
No. A Goal reminder watches for its target and reminds you only when the goal has not been met yet.
